WAYFAIR

BACKGROUND

Wayfair is a large-sized Fortune 500 company that works with a variety of suppliers and third-party vendors in the home decor and furniture space. As a Commercial Strategy Associate Intern last summer, I helped find strategic opportunities for my team to help the Decorative Accents category experience new sales growth and market expansion. My primary project dealt with examining consumer insights and patterns for product classes in the Decorative Accents category (wall decor, accent mirrors, candle holders, etc.) to find key trends and products Wayfair customers were interested in and deemed popular.

THE FINDINGS

Through cross-collaboration with category managers and members of the curated merchandising team, I was able to find that Wayfair customers shopping for wall decor were primarly interested in the following product styles: coastal and country/farmhouse.

THE SOLUTION

As an build-on to the primary project I completed during my internship, I decided to challenge myself to design mockups for two digital ads with coastal and farmhouse wall decor for Wayfair’s website. Each digital ad intertwines concise, lighthearted-fun copy with clear product imagery and a call to action.
